HOST ILSE

Our hosts look forward to meeting you at one of the STROOM performances. It's going to be a season full of inspiring conversations with beautiful people about current issues that matter. Before they get to meet you, they would like to tell you a little about themselves.

We would like to introduce Ilse Wouters to you:

Tell us: who are you and why do you enjoy going to work? I am Ilse Wouters, 47 years old and mother of 2 super cute teenagers. I am a theater maker, entrepreneur, trainer and owner of the Ilse Wouters Academy. On my 40th birthday I decided to follow my great desire and create my own place where everything comes together: founding the Ilse Wouters Academy. A special, attractive location at Sectie-C in Eindhoven, where you can develop in the field of acting and presentation. I have created a place where I, together with a great team, have a lot of fun, can work from the bottom of my heart and pass on my love for theater to others. Every day is different and that is blissful.
I feel like an inspired theaterwoman who is on an adventure every day.

What are your biggest motivations? I focus entirely on art, music, culture & goodness....

This movement generates energy and we like to pass it on to others. With this #doorSTROOM we can make the world a little more beautiful every day! What inspiration do you think is important to share with others? I love stories. Stories that need to be told. I now help entrepreneurs, executives and actors every day to tell their stories in the best way possible. Inspire them to look at things differently. I think we are ready for humanity in the world again. Looking at each other with gentle eyes. Without judgment. That's the beauty of art. Art connects. That is my contribution to the world.

How important do you think it is for people to become part of this #throughSTROOM? I think there is a lot of need for theater and connection in Eindhoven. More people to the theater. Turn off that TV and be enraptured. Life is all about encounters and experiences in my eyes.

Which STROOM MeetUp has stuck with you the most and why? The one with Piet van Dycke. I know him from the Academy, had taught him briefly. A wonderfully open-minded, inspired Flemish artist who makes great things. So enthusiastic and with this open, sincere attitude he really interacted with his audience afterwards.

The MeetUp gives the opportunity for beautiful encounters and real conversations. Which person would you like to meet someday? All the talents fresh from the Drama Academy. All the talents from the Fontys in Tilburg that I coach who have past event nominated for the Jac de Leeuw Prize. Ivo van Hove. Daria Bukvic. Juup Luijten. Paul Slangen. Maddy Kok. Lenneke Maas. René Geerlings, Nazmiye Oral. Jeroen Dijsselbloem. Andre Amaro. Eva Jinek. Adelheid Roosen. Lucia Rijker.Michelle Obama. Oprah Winfrey. Cesar Millan...etc etc. I am genuinely interested in everyone's story.

What is your secret to a good, in-depth conversation? Being curious. Hardcore listening. Asking through. And always serving the purpose, as an interviewer you are not the light of the party, but rather let your guest shine.
