World politics has become a game with ever-increasing stakes. International relations are under high tension, impulsive leaders are guided by an insatiable hunger for power and capital, while shielding themselves with threats. Don't despair explores whether there is still room for hope in this world.
In this performance, we scrutinize the behavior of those in power, show the consequences of "divide and rule," and look for bright spots in teamwork and destiny. As a spectator, you are drawn into a breathtaking adventure - high in the sky - that tilts every perspective.
On an ingeniously suspended set, a maze of planks, platforms and ropes, performers are forced to be constantly op scherp . One misstep can cause everything to collapse; one deliberately loosened rope can cause a fall. In this treacherous environment, they must choose: do they aim for the top alone, or forge an alliance?
With its unique language of dance and acrobatics, embracing risk and focusing on humanity, Panama Pictures responds to a world in flux. A special role is played by singer and multi-instrumentalist iET (Lisa van Viegen-Mokoginta), who adds a new perspective with her warm voice, trumpet and guitar. Sometimes she is vulnerable and melancholic, sometimes uplifting and incisive.
The media about Tipping Point

"An exhilarating performance in which six dancers defy and challenge gravity." (Theaterkrant)
