“Welcome to the Gaybourhood” is an interactive XR performance about living and feeling at home, told from queer perspectives in Dutch and international history. In a physical dollhouse, stories come to life through Extended Reality. The digital avatar Alistair engages the audience in a conversation about what living and “being a good citizen” mean to them, and about who was—or wasn’t—allowed to participate in that in the past.

Studio Marble is a design and theater collective that creates human-centered performances using digital avatars. The collective explores how technology can actually create space for intimacy. Not in spite of, but thanks to the intervention of technology, personal and social themes become visible and tangible from a new perspective.
