Richard wants total power. He is a master of manipulation and subtly winds you around his finger. With lies, intrigues and murders, he eliminates everyone who stands between him and power. You check Rick Paul van Mulligen as King Richard III: the biggest asshole Shakespeare ever wrote.

The bitter revenge of an outsider
Richard feels humiliated and excluded by society. Driven by anger, he forges a plan to take revenge. With fine words and charm, he deceives everyone; from the people to his own family. Richard is willing to pay the highest price, but will he know how to hold on to power when he finally possesses it?

Now is the time of monsters
Director Noël Fischer: "I read a quote from the 1930s: 'The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters.' I check that reflected in Shakespeare's Richard III, but also in the lust for power, desire for control and narcissistic games of autocratic politicians."

Writer Peer Wittenbols creates a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard III for Noël Fischer . You'll check Gustav Borreman, Alex Hendrickx, Tessa Jonge Poerink, Livia Lamers, Rick Paul van Mulligen, Esther Scheldwacht, Betty Schuurman, Jip Smit, Mante Tausk and Vincent van Woerkom.

  • With a free introduction before the performance at 7:30 p.m.
