The Pale Blue Dot

You are taken on a manually conjured space journey that does not require you to leave your seat. The audience is seated around a mechanical table, inspired by the Eise Eisinga Planetarium, where models and live projections combine to form an ever-expanding world. Wordless and artisanal, a sensory journey unfolds from street to city, from earth to ever-expanding perspective. The performance is not a reconstruction, but a playful representation of the universe, evoked with everyday materials: cardboard, mirrors, a hand winch, flashlights, and maybe even a ping-pong ball.

Like Eise Eisinga, who built a planetarium in his own living room to get a grip on the world's turmoil, Heintz & Kop make a space journey as a gesture of wonder and stillness, a human attempt to experience our place in the endless universe around us.
