The singers of De Nationale Opera Studio perform a compact version of Debussy's groundbreaking opera Pelléas et Mélisande, one of the most original and intriguing operas of the twentieth century.

Composer and conductor Marius Constant managed to capture the soul of this masterpiece in an adaptation for two pianos and six soloists.

This production is a diep psychological interpretation of a classic and tragic love triangle. As the action unfolds in and on a grand piano, an intense musical drama unfolds in which desires, jealousy and silent emotions take center play.

The fairy-tale story excites the imagination but never allows itself to be fully fathomed. The music continues to enchant and reinforces the mysterious atmosphere in which the personages inevitably head toward their fate.
