We treat the earth as a supermarket and give animals fewer rights than cruise ships. As the shelves empty, we try to preserve our lifestyle with technological solutions. But maybe we still need to finish something: decolonizing skies, waters, animals and nature.
In A Bigger Story, Bureau Vergezicht, together with actress Romana Vrede, seeks what a decolonized earth looks like. Not through indignation, but with humor, imagination and rich language. A declaration of love to the world and a search for how to stay with it.
Writer Anoek Nuyens on Een Groter Verhaal:
"In recent decades, it has mainly past event scientists and politicians who have set the tone of the climate debate. That has produced a lot of valuable research. Now it is time to take up the baton and turn that knowledge into grand and compelling stories that people will form their identities by and live by. Stories have transformative power, because with a good story you don't just describe the world, you write the world for it. It's time we started telling new stories."
