Parktheater wants to use theater to invite conversation, with different generations and from different perspectives. Using theater as a means to start a conversation with each other about the topics that are alive and important in society at that time. Let's come together and engage in conversation to come to new insights, inspire each other and share insights.
Collaboration
Parktheater Eindhoven enters into valuable collaborations with many social partners in the city. More and more scientific studies show that actively participating in cultural activities has positive effects on the health and well-being of all people.
We guide inspiring cultural initiatives in a creative process. They take and get the play in Parktheater Eindhoven.
Inclusive and accessible
We want to be open and accessible to all of society. To be meaningful to the city and its residents. We constantly take on the challenge of binding new target groups to us. Breaking boxes, removing taboos and thus lowering barriers.
The future of theater
Parktheater is constantly exploring the future of theater. By investing in talented new makers talent within the THINX incubator, by giving children an important place and by making the building available to social initiatives.
Performances with context
Playwrights often create performances out of a social commitment. They deal with the big questions of today and the future. They show us different perspectives, hold up a mirror or make us reflect on ourselves and the world. Experienced artists sometimes appear on play themselves as artists and make their stories and experiences visible.
For example, theater is ideally suited as a means of telling healthcare stories. It can help make issues visible or discussable or get people thinking. Contribute to greater understanding, awareness and acceptance. Or put things into perspective. Think of themes such as dementia, autism, completed life. Also interesting for professionals in the care/social field.
Sustainable goals for the world
Since 2020, the Parktheater has committed itself to the sustainable development goals (SDGs). These 17 sustainability goals, named by the United Nations, are intended to make the world a better place by 2030. As Parktheater we cannot save the whole world, but on our own cultural and theatrical square meter we can pull out all the stops to contribute. With our program, our projects and connections in art, culture and creativity, we translate relevant SDGs to the theater and work to make a positive impact on social issues such as livability, health, social inclusion and a finer world.
The power of collaboration
The Eindhoven Prevention Agreement is a collaboration between 39 partners within care and welfare, education, events and others who want to contribute to a healthier, fitter and happier Eindhoven. It focuses on the themes Smokefree, Healthy Weight, Mental Wellbeing, Loneliness and Alcohol and Drug Prevention. The agreement is part of the Health Memorandum Eindhoven 2022-2025. Together with the partners, of which Parktheater is a part, we examine how we can contribute to the major challenges in care, education and welfare on the basis of everyone's expertise and new collaborations.
