Night Watch

After overwhelming reactions, nominations and sold-out venues, Night Watch returns. What began as a radical theater experience grew into a performance that did not let go of audiences and creators. In 2027, Night Watch once again moves into the night.

Night Watch is no ordinary performance. It is a three-and-a-half-hour interdisciplinary farewell rave in which play, dance and live music merge into a sensory total experience. The evening slips into the night. A heartbeat falters, swells and turns into an unstoppable beat that carries the audience along toward the unknown.

At the center is Mr., a man in the last months of his life. Around him move family, ghosts and memories. As he prepares for the end, his children struggle with a new time. They balance between loyalty, longing and the need to choose who they want to be.
With a sharp but loving eye, Night Watch interweaves humor and melancholy. The performance holds up a mirror and takes a critical and empathetic look at aging, mortality and the Dutch care system. At the end of the night something can break open. A moment of liberation. A chance to choose again who you are.
