A real safari does not take af in a distant jungle. The most surprising nature can be found just around the corner, in your backyard or balcony, on the roof of your house or in the crevices of the sidewalk in your street and city.

Biologist Luc Hoogenstein proves it in Ecolopolis: City Safari, a compelling theatercollege by the makers of the cinema hits De Nieuwe Wildernis and De Wilde Noordzee.

With never-before-seen nature images, Hoogenstein takes you on a journey through the hidden world of urban nature. Stories of fungi that turn flies into zombies to ants that keep aphids as livestock, of spectacularly hunting peregrine falcons above the skyline to hedgehog families under the hedge. And of the more than a thousand species he discovered in his own little city garden in Utrecht.

Stadssafari is an evening full of wonder, humor and recognition. Afterwards, you will never look at your own street in the same way again.

Others about Stadssafari
"From space I saw how extraordinary life on earth is. But you don't have to go up 400 kilometers to be amazed. City Safari shows that the most spectacular nature lives just around the corner. Go check it." (André Kuipers)

"To get people moving to do more with green and nature, you have to know how to touch and inspire them. That is exactly what happens during the theater show Stadssafari with Luc Hoogenstein." (Lodewijk Hoekstra)
