The festival is a unique event with participants and visitors from all over the world. Through energetic and interactive competitions, the best and most creative dancers will be recognized by the professional jury. The audience will also play an important role: you choose your favorite dancers and come up with challenges for the participants. This festival has been organized by Sample Culture since 2013.
The festival consists of a B-Day Party, Battle-day, a Stage-day and an after-party.
OYM B-Day Party: 10 Year Anniversary
Open Your Mind celebrates its 10th anniversary during the festival's official pre-party.
We’re kicking off the festival with OYM B-Day Party: 10 Year Anniversary. Enjoy bass, trap, dnb and jungle music until the wee hours. The OYM pre-parties are always more than just a party; you can also expect performances and (interactive) experiments.

Open Your Mind Battle
Open Your Mind is a cross between a traditional street 'dance battle' and improvisational theater. The most creative 'out-of-the-box' dancers in the world come to Eindhoven to compete for the OYM award.
Open Your Mind blurs the division between competition and theater and is an open platform for dancers of various genres. You will see ballerinas, breakers, hip-hoppers, circus performers, and maybe even a belly dancer. This is primarily about daring, creativity and innovation. Open Your Mind is a cross between a traditional street 'dance battle' and improvisation theater. Surprising and refreshing elements are added to the battle rounds every time.

The preliminary rounds start at 2:00 PM (for dancers who want to qualify for the evening program)
The main event starts at 20:30 (the best 16 dancers compete against each other in spectacular battles and challenges)
OYM-Afterparty
After a battle day full of excitement and competition, the majority of the participants come together again in the OYM Afterparty at Dynamo. You’re welcome to come party with them. The DJ line-up is composed of a fresh and artistic team of young club enthusiasts.

Open Your Mind Stage Day
During Open Your Mind's Stage Day, see short pieces by various artists from the urban scene. Only the most original and theatrical acts are selected to take the stage this evening.
On this Open Your Mind Stage Day, see short choreographies that are the epitome of creativity. These might be pieces by professional companies, but they might also be by students or amateurs. Dancers of all styles can apply, after which artistic director of the festival Andrey Grekhov will make a selection. Only the most original and theatrical acts are selected to take the stage this evening. An expert jury will decide who gets the 'Jury Award' while the audience will decide who gets the 'Crowd’s Favorite'.
