A playback concert for the whole family
Sun 14 Mar '27

Three pop stars are ready for their perfect show, but as soon as the young audience stirs, their tight performance turns into a merry game of misunderstandings, music and unexpected twists that drags everyone along.

As a parent, how often have you had to watch improvised playback performances by your offspring? Even before they can walk, they already know Beyoncé's signature moves. Or sing along phonetically to hits by the Sugababes. Why is it that something aimed at a teenage audience already proves so irresistibly appealing to little ones?

Pops of the Top is a pop concert about extremes and secretly also a history lesson and ode to the classic girl band. We follow three pop stars as they attempt to appear mature, harmonious and cool. But how do you do that when it turns out that your audience consists mainly of 3-year-olds? What if reality doesn't coincide with what you hoped or expected? And why does someone always have to solo? About ups and downs. The best and the worst. About tops and flops. A visual, humorous and musical performance with lots of potential hits, hassles and a beginning, middle and an end.

Pops of the Top is a virtuoso playbacked slapstick concert for the whole family from 3. Language-free in the vein of Aaipet, Pak'm and BullyBully (winner of Silver Cricket).
