After the successful books, television series and cinema films, Mees Kees and his class now experience a brand new adventure on play. Of course, Mees Kees, Dreus and the children take center play. With his funny and surprising solutions, Mees Kees always helps the students out of trouble, while everyone remains a little wary of the strict headmistress Dreus.

This adventure revolves around an exciting read-aloud competition. For student Sammy, who has dyslexia and constantly mixes up words, this seems an impossible challenge. But Mees Kees wouldn't be Mees Kees if he didn't come up with a clever solution. When, on top of that, the Jeugdjournaal comes along and the whole of the Netherlands is watching, the tension rises... Why are Tobias and the brother of Mees Kees suddenly in such a hurry?
