Endless scrolling on our phone, we all do it and more often than we want. From just sending a quick app to thoughtlessly opening Insta or a news app. And then suddenly you're an hour away. We want things to be different, but almost no one can really break away from the phone. How do we get rid of the thing that increasingly determines our lives? And how do we prevent growing children from falling under the spell of the addictive smartphone?
During the theater night Less Phone, More Life, psychologist and young father Thijs Launspach shows you what the attention-guzzling apps of Big Tech do to us. And how you can use your phone in a healthy way. Because we deserve a life in which we are less disturbed and have more attention for the things that are really important - especially our children.
Thijs Launspach is a psychologist and writer, and an expert on the influence of technology on our mental health. He has past event fighting for years against what the addictive design of algorithms is doing to our psychology. He wrote Smartphone-Free Growing Up (#1 in the bestseller 60), Asocial Media and You're Enough Already. He writes a column in the AD and makes the podcast Normal People Don't Exist.
The evening is presented by Thomas van Zijl, journalist and presenter at, among others, Haagsch College and BNR Nieuwsradio
The evening Less Phone, More Life is a theater production of Haagsch College.
