"Based in Utrecht, we make unpolished, visual and physical total theater for the whole family. We like to make theater full of fun play, physical slapstick and imaginative worlds, close to our audience and outside the lines wherever possible. With The Insane Treehouse of 13 Floors, we won both the Zapp Theater Award and a VSCD Silver Cricket in 2018."
Meneer Monster has performed with its shows in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Italy, South Africa, China and Taiwan. The company is structurally supported by the City of Utrecht and was included in the 2021-2024 multi-year production subsidy scheme of the Fonds Podiumkunsten.
Meneer Monster was founded in 2013 by Christiaan Bloem, Chris Koopman, Olaf van de Ven and Ben Visser and quickly gained great acclaim by adapting international children's bestsellers into adult youth performances.
