Theater producer Ludwig Bindervoet transforms the theater into the anarchic arena of the impossible, the unthinkable and the unplayable. ARTAUD3000 is a performance like a whirlwind, propelled by a thundering soundscape by Gagi Petrovic and an overstimulating lighting design by Erasmus Mackenna.

After his successful directorial debut MAMA DADA, about dada poet and very first performance artist Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, Ludwig Bindervoet now makes an ode to the most notorious play innovator and prophet of performance art: Antonin Artaud. Like Artaud, Bindervoet is a director, actor and writer and so he directs, adapts and performs Artaud's never performed sci fi-libretto Il n'y a plus de firmament (There is no more firmament; 1933) into ARTAUD3000, an end-time story set in the future.

An unknown planet is heading af Earth. We check humanity in injury time. Ominous and funny. As Artaud's doppelgänger, Bindervoet takes us on a journey in a sensual palace of mirrors, past hallucinatory dream images, psychotic atmospheric sketches, and the cacophony of mass hysteria. ARTAUD3000 is a performance as cosmic as it is intimate, in which the body speaks, the mind breathes and the heart thinks, an unvarnished and unpredictable paean to the irrational. A tapped, whimsical, (multi-)linguistic and visual movement performance. Anti-intellectualistic, physical, and intuitive. A much-needed antidote in polished times.

Bindervoet's MAMA DADA was nominated for two awards: Performer Elvis de Launay for the Theo d'Or for most groundbreaking play performance and costume designer Carmen Schabracq for the first-ever Designer Award.
