About the festival
Sexual norms are changing and taboos are being broken, openness and tolerance about sexual identity and its forms of expression are growing. At the same time, sexual morality is becoming stricter, slut-shamed and the toxic heterosexual man is being canned.
What about sexuality in Eindhoven? Parktheater wants to invite conversations about it with a series of stimulating theater performances, frank talks, a titillating dinner and extravagant parties in November.
The program
Come to Let's talk about Sex and discover theater, talks, art, food and more. Performances can be seen at Parktheater, Pand P and Natlab. Dinner can also be reserved at Pand P.
Why do we organize this festival?
With theater, the Parktheater wants to invite a conversation, with different generations and from different angles. Sexuality is a central aspect of being human throughout life: gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, eroticism, pleasure, intimacy, procreation. It is what connects us all, but which is too little talked about.
Talking about sexuality is complicated but fundamental because supporting healthy sexual development creates an increase in quality of life and resilience. It is essential not only to the overall health and well-being of individuals, but also to the social and economic development of a society.
The Parktheater notices the need to make sexuality more widely discussable, and likes to respond to this. Of course by programming a diverse theater program in which all facets of sexuality and experience are addressed. But the Parktheater also sees an essential social function for itself; how can we enter into a conversation together and go deeper? LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!
Let's talk about...
With Let's talk about Sex, the Parktheater introduces the first theater festival of a new series of festivals within our programming. Under the title Let's talk about..., we will focus on a subject for a month more often in the coming years. A subject that suits the Parktheater but also fits with what society needs. We want to use theater as the means to engage with each other about the topics that are alive and important in society at that time.
Partners
Theaterfestival Let's talk about Sex was created with the help of several partners. Pand P and Natlab: where several performances of the festival can be seen. The Eindhoven queer collective DayDayGay: they take care of the opening night of the festival. Studio Sociaal Centraal: developed the dinner in collaboration with the chefs of BIJ13. The GGD: they developed a new website especially for young people where they can go with all their questions about sex.
The various (private) Talks are organized in collaboration with Summa, Vitalis and Morgenmakers.

Let's Talk About Sex? The best way to do that is of course while enjoying exciting food. From introductory shot to cuddle hormone to a climatizing dessert and all sorts of exciting delights in between! Don't miss it, because only this month the Taste of Sexuality is on the menu BIJ13, the restaurant of the Parktheater. Designed with love by Studio Sociaal Centraal, in collaboration with the chefs-cooks BIJ13.
If you have already booked a Theaterdiner you will get the option of this Menu-special or the standard Theaterdiner. The dinner can also be booked separately.
