BinnensteBuiten: where education and theater really meet
Together with De Emiliusschool and Basisschool De Harlekijn from Son en Breugel, we realized the unique project BinnensteBuiten. In this collaboration, pupils from regular schools and children with a severe multiple handicap (EMB) meet each other in our theater: dancing, playing and being amazed together. The result? A living experience in which theater proved to be truly for everyone regardless of background or disability.
The project was awarded the National Education Prize for Primary Education 2025, with the jury specifically highlighting the connecting power and inclusive approach of the initiative.
Filmmaker Tamino Parren captured these encounters with beauty and integrity. Which resulted in three short documentary films.

About the National Education Prize
The National Education Prize is a biennial, national election that puts the spotlight on education projects that really mean something. Projects full of creativity, social commitment and a strong vision on education. With this award, the organization wants to show how versatile Dutch education is and how much enthusiasm it brings to the table.
For the Parktheater it is not only an award, but above all a confirmation: that cooperation between culture and education makes an impact; in theater, classroom and heart.
We thank all pupils, teachers, makers and partners for their courage, commitment and openness. Together we are taking a step towards a more inclusive and connected world.
