Various facilities in the Parktheater

Facilities for the disabled

Parktheater has various facilities for the disabled, such as an elevator, adapted toilet, wheelchair spaces and hearing amplification equipment.

Disabled and wheelchair spaces

All areas of the Parktheater are accessible via an elevator.
If you have difficulty walking, we recommend choosing seats that require as little use of stairs as possible. In the Hertog Jan Zaal , these are the seats in rows 17, 18, 19, and 20. In the Philipszaal , these are rows 1, 2, and 16. We’d be happy to assist you! Please contact us by phone at 040-211-11-22.

Do you use a walker or mobility scooter? Feel free to ask a Parktheater staff member to help you during your visit.

There are also special wheelchair-accessible seats available in all auditoriums. You can watch the performance from your wheelchair. Wheelchair-accessible seats can only be reserved by phone at 040-211-11-22.

If you’d like to know more about the layout of our auditoriums, please check the Auditorium Floor Plan.

Blind and visually impaired

Several performances are specially accessible for visually impaired visitors. In cooperation with Komt het zien, these are provided with audio description via wireless headphones and an introduction by a blind interpreter. Guide dogs for the blind are welcome.

Hearing amplification

All auditoriums at the Parktheater are equipped with a hearing assistance system, the Phonak Roger system. This system is available to people with hearing impairments, whether they use their own hearing aid or not, who simply wish to have hearing assistance during the performance. The hearing assistance devices can be af at the box office before the performance begins.

Carefree enjoyment with Celebrate life (65+)

More and more elderly people are reluctant to arrange their own theater visits. Stichting Vier het Leven (Foundation Celebrate Life) organizes cultural activities where everything is arranged for carefree enjoyment. Volunteers pick up the elderly (65+) at home and together they go to a theater performance. Contact Vier het Leven at www.4hetleven.nl or call 035 - 524 51 56.

Going to the theater with children?

It is useful to know that booster seats can be borrowed. These are available at all children's performances in the Hertog Jan Zaal. More information about going to the theater with children.
