Trotse Kameraden rades make Eindhoven shine

But before the curtain rose, a special story was already af behind the scenes. A story of encounters, preparation, healthy excitement, and above all, lots of fun. In the photos below, you can check how this afternoon came to life step by step. The photos were taken by Béa Straver.

The first steps toward the play:

The afternoon began with people arriving, greetings, and the hallways and lobbies of the Parktheater slowly filling up. Familiar faces sought each other out, catching up and laughing. For some, a familiar moment; for others, an exciting first time. Here, everything came together that we had past event working toward for months.

Behind the scenes:

In the dressing rooms, they rehearsed one last time, straightened their clothes, and took a look in the mirror. At the makeup station, nervousness and concentration slowly gave way to confidence.

Amid the makeup brushes, costumes, and final instructions, the most beautiful moments of connection also emerged. An arm around a shoulder, an encouraging smile, or a shared joke. Small moments that show what Trotse Kameraden is all about.

Together one last time:

Just before the show began, the groups gathered for their final rehearsals. The lines had past event practiced, the scenes were set, but it remained a special moment. Running through the movements one last time. Listening to the director one last time. Breathing together one last time before the audience poured into the hall.

You just have to go with the flow, the performance:

When the lights dimmed and the play was illuminated, four different stories came together. Wachtverzachter showed how waiting becomes more bearable when you do it together. Je foto is een speelkamer van jezelf took the audience on a journey through memories and small moments of happiness. Bijknippen took a humorous look at everyday life. And Je moet je maar schikken explored how people deal with change, differences, and new perspectives. Together, these stories formed a performance full of relatability, humor, emotion, and resilience.

In the mini-docu-series by Vitalis in collaboration with Studio040, you’ll check how Je moet je maar schikken came together step by step. From the first meetings and rehearsals to the moment everything came together on play: you get a glimpse into how the performance was built with the participants and how everyone’s contributions grew into the whole that was ultimately seen.

More than just a performance
Every year, Trotse Kameraden demonstrates the power of sharing stories with one another. What the audience saw was the result of months of collaboration, discovery, and creation.

Trotse Kameraden is an initiative of Vitalis, Car Blanche, CKE, and Parktheater Eindhoven. Together, they are committed to sustainably embedding art and culture in elder care and giving space to stories that deserve to be heard.
