KID IN A CANDY SHOP
Choreographer Jan Martens, known for his bold and abstract creations bursting with energy, makes his first world premiere full of endurance, rebellion, and innovative punk-like music. For his first NDT 1 creation, Martens works with a large ensemble of dancers to the stimulating, punk-like compositions Pretty by Julia Wolfe and GG Concerto by Hanna Kulenty, which complement each other perfectly and magnify the movements on play.
Horses
We also re-enter the imaginative Horses (2024) by brand-new associate choreographer Marcos Morau. He is known for creating visually impressive works, best described as surrealistic landscapes. He invites you to reflect on what it means to survive in a complex world full of turmoil, transformation and the paradox that getting lost is sometimes the right way forward. The frenzied theatricality of the dancers combined with the electrifying music of composers Andrzej Panufnik and Caroline Shaw make Horses a fascinating experience that keeps you watching breathlessly.
