During the European Parliament elections we will cast our vote that will determine the course of Europe. But what do we actually vote for and does your opinion have any influence? It seems like the European Parliament is far away, but actually it is very close.
Because, we are Europe. The Netherlands is part of one of the largest union of democracies in the world. Europe as a community of values and ideals. During the Let's talk about Democracy festival, in November 2023, we showed that democracy as we know it in the Netherlands is not a given. With an increase in autocratic leadership and a war on the European border, the importance of a united Europe has grown. The current times also call for major transitions in migration, climate, agriculture and the economy that affect us all.
We are at a historical turning point: the story of Europe is being rewritten. At Let's talk about Europe we af ourselves: what does Europe mean to me? How can we look less at the differences and more at what unites us? How do we determine together the route to the future?

During The Great European Show, The Electors will drag you through the political quagmire in an interactive election show full of surprises. In the dance performance Kites, Roshanak Morrowatian shares the experiences of a child on the run. Theater Oostpool 's Eighth Life humorously tells a family history during the downfall of the Soviet Union - a crucial period in Europe.
During Europe: what will be our story, Dr. Willeke Slingerland (lecturer in Resilient Democracy at Saxion University of Applied Sciences) and Dr. Rogier van der Wal (lecturer in Ethical Work at Fontys University of Applied Sciences) talk about the influence of European decisions on Eindhoven.

With Let's talk about Europe, the Parktheater is organizing the third theater festival of a new series of festivals within our programming. Under the title Let's talk about..., we will focus on a subject for a month more often in the coming years. A subject that suits the Parktheater but which also fits with what society needs. We want to use theater as a means to discuss with each other the topics that are alive and important in society at that time.
