We check the journey of young Jeffrey after his hepatitis C diagnosis in 1999. At the same time, based on interviews, we dive behind the scenes at the pharmaceutical company that owns the curing but prohibitively expensive medicijn. Key figures from the drug development chain pass by: from idealistic lab technicians to shrewd investors. In parallel, the love story between Jeffrey and his partner Max unfolds, at a time when Jeffrey is becoming increasingly ill. When the medicijn appears on the Dutch market in 2014, there is great public discussion about the price. How much should a human life cost? Who will pay for it? And will this medicijn get to Jeffrey in time?
