It's the 1960s in America and everything has to be different. New music with flashy dances, fashionably hip clothing and striking hairstyles. The world also needs to be shaken up socially. And Tracy Turnblad, along with her mother Edna, takes care of that. When she gets the chance to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show, she seizes the moment to show that there is a place for everyone in the world. Provided you do go through life dancing.
