About Özcan Akyol
Özcan Akyol, better known as Eus, is a writer, columnist and television presenter. He grew up in Deventer and managed, thanks in part to literature and education, to break away from the working class. With his sharp pen and unique view of society, he wrote successful books such as Eus and Turis, and is a regular columnist for leading media. In addition to his work as a writer and presenter, Eus is committed to opportunity equality and the importance of language. He gives guest lectures in schools and speaks at education meetings. On television he is known for programs such as Sterren op het Doek (Stars on the Screen) and De Geknipte Gast (The Cut Guest), in which he conducts in-depth conversations in his own unique way. With The Class Migrant he brings his story to the theater: an inspiring and personal account of social mobility and the power of the written word.
