In a musical solo, a woman (Meral Polat) creates the opportunity to shape motherhood in her own way. She unravels what it means to her, as an artist and as a ritual. Because in the arts, death has past event made into literature and dying has past event endlessly depicted, but having a child hardly plays a role on theatre. Giving life still belongs to the intimate realm, where mothers live and artists stay far away from. While having or not having, and caring for children, is an existential experience for many.
En ze maakte een kind was shown exclusively at Theater Bellevue in 2023 and is now going on tour throughout the Netherlands.
The media about En ze maakte een kind
