International Nights

Each year, Parktheater specially selects four captivating performances, shows that transcend language, and designates them 'International Nights'. On such evenings, international audience members are treated to a range of special activities such as pre-show introductions in English, live music, and socializing both before and after the shows.

- Oct 21th (Circa / Wellington)
- Jan 19th (United C)

- March 3rd (Jakop Ahlbom)
- April 20th (The Laughing Lizard)

The is the third Welcome Night in this season’s series of specially-selected performances that captivate the senses and transcend language – thus making them perfect for Parktheater’s international audience members.
In the surrealist thriller Innenschau [Revisited], we follow an obsessively jealous man, obsessed with the idea that his free-spirited wife is desired by other men and wanting to protect her in the name of love. Fueled by his own sexual frustrations and aggression, he finds himself in a dark state of mind where it is impossible to separate truth from lies.
In his own unique visual language, director Jakob Ahlbom reveals an unethical world where we no longer know whether our memories are correct or our observations based on reality. Through strong physical imagery in which movement, dance and illusion are intertwined, and electrifying live music by indie-pop band Alamo Race Track, Ahlbom delivers a theatrical thriller in which nothing is what it seems.

Friday 19th January 2018 - United Cowboys - We Want More

Contemporary dance show We Want More by United Cowboys.
Experimental, explicit, exuberant

United Cowboys is a collective of international artists under the guidance of a dedicated artistic team located in Eindhoven. They create multidisciplinary performances on the border of dance, music performance, video, and installation art that can be viewed around the globe.
United Cowboys encourages artistic risk and questions, stretches and challenges theatrical conventions. They invite local and international audiences in the hopes of promoting discourse, offering new perspectives, and further investigating new forms of artistic development, participation and presentation.

We Want More is one in a series titled The Nude Studies Menu, created by Maarten van der Put.
In this series, Maarten crafts performances using visual language that shows both beauty and vulnerability in an uncensored display – the body as a unique and, at the same time, natural phenomenon. No science, no religion, just pure amazement.
