Young people from Eindhoven and surroundings bring their own stories, music, dance and theater together in The Cry for Freedom. An evening full of creativity, energy and emotion in which the commemoration of the shared slavery past is central.

Accompanied by professionals such as actor Anton de Bies, rapper D'son, spoken word artist Terrence van Lange and with performances by Amaya End, young people show what freedom means to them. After the performance you can stay for the afterparty with DJ, snacks and drinks. Everyone is welcome: friends, family, acquaintances, organizations and other interested parties.

The journey
The adventure began at Dynamo Youth Center De Uitwijk, where young people transformed their stories, music and dance into art in workshops. Later they traveled to The Hague to the National Archives to learn more about the history of slavery and to discuss it. With these experiences, they created a performance full of emotion, energy and personal reflection on freedom.
