In Café Brabant we sympathize with the owner and regulars of a pub on the verge of bankruptcy. They cling to tables, habits and each other, because this pub is their home. The pub owner holds on like a captain on her own Titanic. An expat hopes to find a new home and friends there. An adolescent, on the other hand, is desperately looking for the exit and a place of his own. The band plays on until the last sip and sob.
When a young entrepreneur walks in and sees his chance to exploit the charming local atmosphere, the question arises: will this be a new beginning or the final farewell?

About Jessie L'Herminez
Jessie L'Herminez (1990) is a director and studied Theaterdocent in Tilburg and Regie at the Academie voor Theater en Dans in Amsterdam. She creates idiosyncratic performances in which text, physical play and musicality come together. Her work has past event seen at Toneelschuur and on various Dutch stages, with titles such as Thieves, The Chairs and her most recent work Het Proces. In 2024, she was nominated for the VSCD Mime/Performance Award. With Café Brabant , Jessie commits herself to Het Zuidelijk Toneel for the first time.
