Ademen is based on Lungs by Duncan Macmillan (Every Brilliant Thing). In Lungs, Macmillan wrote a flashy dialogue full of humor and depth about one of the most complicated questions for young couples: should you bring a new human being into the world during these times of uncertainty and climate change?
“They say if you really care about the planet,
if you really care about the future of humanity,
please do not have children.
In fact, they say that if you really care about the planet,
then you should kill yourself, but I'm not going to do that.”
Het Nationale Theater will be a guest for almost a week, takes over the Parktheater and gets to know our visitors.

Noël Fischer (1966) is the artistic director of HNTjong. Her performances are characterized by a physically raw, visual approach to groundbreaking, sometimes controversial subjects. In her work she undermines all fixed 'boxes' of gender, color and class. She finds her inspiration in the middle of society and she directs newly written texts in addition to current (youth) adaptations of existing theater repertoire.
Mariana Aparicio Torres
Since 2013, Mariana has worked as a guest actress at Het Nationale Theater in the performances We zijn hier voor Robbie (2018) and Elektra (2014). As of July 1, 2018 she is a permanent member of the ensemble. Mariana graduated in 2007 from the Artez Theater School in Arnhem.
Bram Suijker has been a permanent part of Het Nationale Theater since 2016. He was born and raised in Nijmegen and lives in Amsterdam. After high school he was accepted at the Maastricht Theater Academy, where he graduated in 2013.
Duncan Macmillan (1980) is an English playwright and director. He is best known for his plays Lungs, People, Places and Things, Every Brilliant Thing and the stage adaptation of the George Orwell novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.
