Festen hits you like a sledgehammer. That was years ago, when Thomas Vinterberg's film classic was brought to the theater by the legendary company De Ploeg. And here it is again, with a new, darkly comic script adaptation by Peter Heerschop.

For those who don't know (anymore), the story in short: relatives cheerfully gather to celebrate father's birthday. Prodigal son shows up and delivers a speech over dinner that turns the festive evening into a battlefield. Festen is, without a doubt, the hit of the year.
