In Black Memories, the dancers, actors and musicians step into Dutch colonial history with an open mind. A history that affects our current society. Because how does it feel in 2019 to live as a person of color in the Netherlands?
A strong performance about power, freedom and skin color. With the beat of African, Caribbean and Western music and the energy of contemporary urban culture. In Black Memories, the doors are open to continue understanding each other. The starting point is the personal experiences of the dancers, actors and the live band. All eleven of them switch effortlessly between historical stories and current issues.
