Four faded Broadway stars do everything they can to shine again and catch wind from a community uproar. Emma only wants one thing: to take her friend and love Alyssa to the Prom, her school's celebratory year-end dance. But that is difficult in her conservative hometown. The parent council has decided to cancel the entire party. So, the vainglorious former stars seize their chance to put themselves back in the spotlight and go to war. But what starts as a smart business project to polish their own images, turns into an emotional journey with only one goal in sight: being able to be yourself!

The Broadway musical received six Tony nominations and won the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical. The successful Netflix Original Film stars Meryl Streep, James Corden and Nicole Kidman.
