It is on every front page, it is the political debate of today, and it ensures that tens of thousands take to the streets. Climate change is one of the biggest problems of our time.

But in the global warming debate, everyone seems to have their own unique facts and withdraw into their own camps. How bad will it really get? And what can we do? During this evening, climate journalist Jelmer Mommers brings nuance and hope back to the climate debate.

Behind the news stories about melting ice sheets, dying animal species and denying politicians, there is a worldwide movement that shows: we will write our own future on an increasingly warmer earth. According to Mommers, we still have countless options to build a much better future, and it is never "too late" to join the cause.

After this evening, you will know how big the problem really is, and you will forever be rid of the notion that your actions are only a drop in the ocean. Jelmer Mommers is a Climate & Energy correspondent, and in June, he published his book Hoe gaan we dit uitleggen - Onze toekomst op een steeds warmere aarde at De Correspondent.
