In his performance Everything that happened and would happen, director Heiner Goebbels investigates Europe’s destructive history with an international cast of dancers and musicians in front of the impressive Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum. For this large-scale multimedia installation, the director uses text from Patrik Ouředník's novel Europeana and images from the Euronews news programme.
From 2012 to 2014, Heiner Goebbels was intendant of the Ruhrtriennale where he staged the much-discussed performance of De Materie with music by Louis Andriessen. Prior to the performance, we will visit Tony Cokes' multimedia installation Mixing Plant, displayed on the Zeche Zollverein which is a coal mine and industrial complex in Essen that has been on UNESCO's World Heritage List since 2001. It now houses the Ruhr Museum and the Red Dot Design Museum.
