Nederlands Dans Theater 1 (NDT1) wraps up their anniversary season and Paul Lightfoot's period as artistic director with Schmetterling. Like a butterfly, this evening symbolises the eternal process of transformation -- one of the most essential qualities of Nederlands Dans Theater.

Schmetterling (2010) by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot suggests the transience of existence and the way in which life and death constantly cross paths. The work is set to music by the indie rock band Magnetic Fields and the composer Max Richter.

In addition, it will showcase a new work by the two choreographers. Finally, the programme includes a choreography by Damien Jalet, a creative new face for NDT. The acclaimed works of the Belgian-French Jalet are often visually stunning, kinetic and thought-provoking.
