The performance tells the story of Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer's successful 2017 novel by the same name, which was nominated for the Libris Literature Prize. Directed by artistic director Michel Sluysmans, Toneelgroep Maastricht presents Peachez as a musical and a passionate plea for an unconditional belief in love.
A professor of a certain age lives all his life in his head and the books he studies. Until one day he receives an e-mail from an unknown woman. She calls herself Sarah Peachez. A passionate e-mail exchange develops between the two. What the professor had no longer hoped for happens: he finds the love that will radically change his life. Only not in the way he had initially envisioned.
Franssen and Van de Wetering play an intimate love duet in Peachez, musically accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Axl Peleman. Sluysmans and Pfeijffer previously and successfully worked together with Toneelgroep Maastricht in De Advocaat (Toneelschrijfprijs 2017) and Brieven uit Genua.
