Dare to be something or nothing in relation to each other, have the courage to exist.

In 2018, director Marcus Azzini of Toneelgroep Oostpool made the personal mosaic performance Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu (Ik Ben Omdat Wij Zijn) with a new generation of talented actors. He used the same working method as in Allemaal Mensen: the personal stories within a seemingly homogeneous group of young talents form the basis for a brutal, witty and moving performance about identity, diversity and inclusiveness. About humanity and being human and about how your identity is formed by living together in a community: Allemaal Mensen |UMUNTU.

In Allemaal Mensen | UMUNTU, ten young people strive to determine their identities. They introduce themselves to the public and try to show their best side. But it is not so easy to put your identity into words. Gradually, the boxes in which they are struggling against become more grim and the dividing line between reality and fiction becomes unimportant. Let's get comfortable with being uncomfortable!
