In 2019, it will be 75 years since the Battle of Arnhem took place. A memorable moment in Dutch history. As a tribute, Introdans director Roel Voorintholt has compiled a performance centering on the themes of struggle, power, energy and going to extremes. Universal and timeless themes made visible by contemporary choreographers.

The Battle opens with a ‘battle’ by American Robert Battle: The Hunt, a dynamic power-piece performed by six men.
The Introdans women can be seen in a new creation by Cayetano Soto. This marks a collaboration between the Spanish artist and film maker Inge Theunissen.
Introdans is also proud to present the Dutch premiere of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Qutb in this evening’s performance. The woman's role in this penetrating dance trio was created for none other than the Russian star ballerina Natalia Osipova.
The Battle concludes with an impressive 'masterpiece': Missa Brevis, the magnum opus of one of the American modern dance masters, José Limón.
