During the DBC NK Breaking (Dutch B-boy Championships), crews from all over the country compete for the most prestigious breakdance title in the Netherlands. In existence since 2000, the championship is the most important national breaking competition in the Netherlands. This year is its 21st edition.

Breakdance is a dance style that is part of hip-hop culture. Originating in the New York suburbs in the late 1970s, the style is also referred to as b-boying, b-girling, or breaking. Breakdance combines movements from martial arts, dance and acrobatics, among others. In 2024, breaking will become an Olympic sport for the first time.

The DBC NK Breaking is organized by Mario Walden and Tyrone van der Meer. Mario Walden, a.k.a. Mario Bee, hosts numerous events including The Notorious IBE. He is a seasoned host who thrills audiences and dancers at countless events around the world. From Red Bull BC One Cyphers to Eurobattle to WBC and many more, Mario is one of the most engaging hosts in the Netherlands and one of the founders of the DBC championship.

Tyrone van der Meer, a.k.a. DJ Mr. Tee, is a founding member of the world famous international BBoy event The Notorious IBE and is constantly bringing new inspiration to hip-hop culture. He is involved in numerous breaking events, such as Undisputed Masters and Red Bull BC One.
