You open your eyes. A new, fresh day has arrived. A day with endless possibilities. Or not. Do you actually get to decide for yourself what you do and want? A New Dawn is a dynamic multidisciplinary show with constantly changing elements. Like each new day, each performance develops in its own unique way.
They have one thing in common… they are the most innovative musicians and (break)dancers of today: breakdancer REDO (De Zwaan), percussionist Dominique (Nederlandse Muziekprijs), director Peter Leung and visual designer Noralie. About the artists
Redo was born with various physical disabilities without any medical explanation. Despite these complications, Redo has developed into a top dancer in the breaking scene. In 2018, his own solo show, REDO, premiered. A year later he wrote history by winning “De Zwaan”, the most prestigious dance prize in the Netherlands. This makes him the first hip-hop dancer to win such a prize. In 2020, Redo was ranked number 1 on De Community Top 100, an annual list of inspiring talents in Dutch society. For all his work and achievements locally, nationally, and internationally, he received a Royal Distinction as 'Officer in the Order of Orange Nassau'. Currently, Redo performs in (theater) shows and (TV) productions and gives motivational lectures and workshops all over the world.
Dominique Vleeshouwers is an international percussion soloist known for his versatility, unique performance, and for creating out-of-the-box productions. In 2020, he was the first percussionist to win the prestigious Dutch Music Prize. He also won first prize, press prize and audience prize at the TROMP international percussion competition in 2014. He has performed as a soloist with the Royal Concertgebouw, Tokyo Sinfonietta, Asko ||Schönberg ensemble, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, and others.
