Marcel Osterop is a writer, singer and actor. He grew up in Eindhoven, where he still lives and works. He writes plays, co-wrote the television series De Fractie by the VPRO, and contributed to the podcast Kwaad Bloed. In 2010, he met guitarist and composer Frank van Kasteren through the theater initiative De Orde van de Dag. For this initiative, they wrote a song every month.

This pressure cooker – writing, creating, performing in each day – still forms the basis for their songs. In recent years, Frank and Marcel have performed extensively at places like the Nieuw Utrechts Toneel, Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Lazarus/ARSENAAL, the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht, Parktheater Eindhoven, Oerolfestival, Festival Boulevard, de Parade, and have presented numerous New Year's Eve shows at Dutch theaters.

In 2016, they founded Altstad, and in 2018, they released their first album De Aap. In January 2020, they recorded their second album, Tweede Huid, with a talented group of musicians. This album included Lisa Lukaszczyk (vocals, keys, producer) and Joost Wesseling (drums), Ralf Pouw (bass) and Nadine Dekker (violin). The album was produced by Sam Jones at studio Joneski.

Tweede Huid is about a lost soul's journey across the desert in search of a city. It is a personal story about breaking free from addiction, taming demons, and connecting with life.
