The main film of the Netherlands Silent Film Festival, the annual tribute to the great slapstick stars of the film, this year is Buster Keatons Sherlock Jr. (1924).

In the film, Keaton plays a young film operator who dreams of one day becoming a great detective. It's a virtuoso film that highlights every aspect of Keaton's brilliant style of filmmaking. In addition to this main film, some short comedies should not be missed. These titles, starring several major slapstick stars, will be announced shortly.

  • All films are accompanied live by the NSFF Ensemble conducted by Daan van den Hurk.
  • The Slapstick Saturday is part of the Dutch Silent Film Festival that takes place from 12 to 15 January 2023 in Pand P and Parktheater Eindhoven. The full program can be found on nsff.nl.
