Do others determine who you are, or do you decide for yourself what role you play? If you do nothing, nothing will change. A performance about forming your own identity and the question of what you are entitled to in life.

Max is ugly, he's sure of that. And attractive people don't understand what it's like to be ugly and unattractive. It makes Max very angry. At his neighbor Lisa, at his mother, at the girls who do not see him and at the boys who are seen by those girls. Max is mad at everyone and the whole world.

Director Thimothy de Gilde came up with the idea for Recht when he read about the 'incel movement', a group of men who don't have sex but think they are entitled to it. He works together with choreographer Dalton Jansen, who translates Max's emotions into contemporary moves.
