In Hoge Noot, Maartje & Kine wonder why people make music. These two multi-instrumentalists whiz effortlessly from Brahms to Balkan, from opera to yodel-rap and from chansons to electro.

Maartje & Kine keep on making music, even when the world is coming to an end! With magnificent musicality and masterly solos. With loads of skits and lots of humor. Because when the need is greatest, the music is near.

The concert begins. You can hear a pin drop. Then finally the first notes sound. La musique est magnifique. But with a resounding thump, the piano lid slams down on the pianist's hand. Her scream becomes an aria. And suddenly the violin has a mind of its own. Bach transforms into Michael Jackson via Mexican Hat Dance. Banging, rocking, sweating: Maartje & Kine are possessed. Listening and trembling has never been so much fun!

Maartje & Kine have been touring the Netherlands for several years with humorous-virtuoso theater shows. You may know them from their documentary Maartje en Kine buigen niet about their road trip to Norway during corona, their Miniconcerten voor Alleenstaanden, or their performances at Opium op Oerol, Podium Witteman, Lowlands, Zwarte Cross and Concert at Sea.
