Erik Whien’s Revolutionary Road is the first stage adaptation of the world-famous book. A performance about the deepest imperfections of man. About escaping, but not being able to escape from yourself.

Relentlessly, Revolutionary Road dissects the dream of happy family life. Young couple Frank and April Wheeler are stuck in their bourgeois life in the suburbs of a big city, where everything revolves around projecting the picture of perfection. As they grow to hate their lives more and more, their marriage slowly falls apart. Maybe they should leave it all behind: the boring drama club, the friendship with Shep and Milly, the pushy neighbor Helen, the monotonous job with the good salary. But the decision to start life anew has more consequences than expected.

With his penetrating understanding of psychology, Richard Yates gets inside the minds of his characters, whose inner lives have never been as neatly raked as their lawns. His acclaimed novel Revolutionary Road is considered by many to be a modern classic. Erik Whien's version shimmers and gets under your skin, with impressive performances by top actors Jacob Derwig, Teun Luijckx, Alejandra Theus and Jacqueline Blom.

Due to the tightened corona measures, this performance has been definitively cancelled.

“Outstanding actors deliver this smart stage version.”
