He grew up in the Brabant village of Dommelen in a family of nine children. He was supposed to be a footballer, but his friends saw in him a boy who belonged more on the stage than on the football field. 'Glodi often told his stories more beautifully than they actually were. Or he made things up. When he’d come home from football, he’d say he had scored three times. If his parents called the trainer, they’d find out he hadn't even played.'
This winner of the 2018 Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival tackles everyone and no one is safe. Neither is Glodi himself. 'Glodi stands confidently, with a disarming charm and a lot of panache on stage. He links his semi-naive delivery to some strong and primordial stories.' (Jury AKF 2018)
