MICHÈLE RIJZEWIJK
When Michèle Rijzewijk graduated from the Academie voor Theater in Tilburg in 2013, she clearly knew what kind of theater she wanted to make: documentary theater with non-actors. Because in that form, the social power of theater comes into its own the most. On her own, she created a performance with ex-homeless people.
Thanks to the connections of homeless shelters, they were allowed to play at the Parktheater, and from there Michèle was approached for the THINX trajectory. THINX offered Michèle the chance to experiment and professionalize, and encouraged her to establish a foundation. That became the Mies-en-Scène Foundation. Michèle is currently working on Verzetsportretten (Resistance Portraits), in which Eindhoven heroines from the Second World War are linked to Eindhoven heroines with a migration background.
INEZ WOLTERS - LaPIRATESSE
Performer Inez Wolters is the creative brain behind LaPiratesse. Inez approaches her songs as visual live clips, using the play to protest and activate ourselves. In each song, she transforms into a different character always wearing a different extravagant outfit.
This evening is the kickoff of Inez THINX trajectory at Parktheater. She presents a new study entitled The Human, in which she offers her thoughts on the question: what are we all actually, simultaneously, doing? As you read this, someone is running to the train, a child is being born, someone is reading a letter from the IRS, someone is giving someone a kiss, a bomb is exploding somewhere, one person is winning a race, another is whispering "help"...
