Slowly but steadily is a cinematic music performance, addressing the themes of mourning and loss and bodily autonomy. Chiara Pastoor combines her vulnerable lyrics, chanson-like melodies and cinematic self-portraits to consider together the monstrous and magisterial waves of life.

Drawing on her own life experiences, she explores how grief weaves itself into everyday life and what it means to (re)find safety in your own body. How does your body feel when it says no? How do we carry guilt that comes with bereavement? And what roles do women play in their lives to please others?
