How do we cope with the pace and expectations of modern society and the high demands we place on ourselves? Do we try to keep up, do we flee or do we take up the fight? INSTINCT is an explosion of energy, movement and emotion.
For the first time, a large hall performance by Conny Janssen Danst will be made in co-creation. Artistic director Conny Janssen has invited choreographer Patricia van Deutekom for this purpose. While Patricia van Deutekom has a preference for a powerful, unpolished but sensitive dance language, Conny Janssen zooms in more on the individual qualities of her dancers, which she interweaves with her own dance language. The result? A compelling mix of movement, music and storytelling that takes you into the struggle, tension and adrenaline of everyday life.

The media about INSTINCT
"With a set design of LED tubes on pulls and in elongated, movable frames, Instinct packs a first punch worth a dime. It's beautiful." (Theater newspaper)
"The movements are instinctive, sometimes eruptive, with many touches and near touches, firm grounding and undulating torsos. Unison group passages alternate with duets and solo. Af a breaking-move cuts through the modern dance language. It's all about emotion and personal friction." (Wed.)
"A beautiful interplay: the performers in the hypnotic INSTINCT show what impulses manage us and how they determine our relationship with each other"
